Known for its 7 miles of beaches, hot summer months and buzzing nightlife, Bournemouth is the ideal place for a UK staycation. And because of this, thousands of people head down there every year, making it one of the most popular UK destinations. With it being such a lively area, we thought we’d put together a list of events that you’ll find in there in 2016.
Film & Comic Con Bournemouth
“Knock, Knock” “Who’s there?” “Doctor” “Doctor Who?” I’m sure everyone’s heard that one before. On the 12th and 13th March you’ll be able to see your favourite TV, Film and Comics at The BIC in Bournemouth, with tickets starting as low as £8 available on their website – www.filmandcomicconbournemouth.com.
Big Bournemouth Beer Festival
The Bournemouth Beer Festival has now been running for an impressive 7 years, and it’s not showing signs of slowing down. You’ll find a fantastic range of novelty and seasonal beers, along with great cider and a wine bar. Food and snacks will also be available at this festival. This event runs from 25th – 27th March, so book your tickets fast as it will soon fill up.
Bournemouth Air Festival
This free to the public, award winning event runs from 18th – 21st August and is not to be missed. With it running for 4 days, often visitors of the Air Festival will make a weekend break out of their trip. Check out the website here for more information about the event – http://bournemouthair.co.uk/.
Grand Prix of the Sea
Yes you read that right, there is an actual Grand Prix of the Sea in Bournemouth and it is exactly as exciting as it sounds. On 12th – 13th September you can go and watch jet skis race along the coastline, for free might we add. AquaX is split into 4 categories – 200hp -250hp- 300hp, which is incredibly fast, as you’ll see in the video from 2014 below.
Even when there isn’t a fantastic event on like the above list, Bournemouth is a beautiful place to visit, and a perfect location to create amazing memories with the family.
